Sandra van den Bosse has been coaching and instructing for years and is a professional PMBIA, certificated Instructor. She's been riding all her life but focused on MTB for the past decade. She coaches for Duluth Devo and is excited to be offering these skills clinics to adults in our area. When not riding, Sandra is the program director of social work, teaching and running the undergraduate program at UMD.
The PMBIA stands for Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association and was founded in Whistler BC in 2006. It was created to fulfill the demand for a professional and modern certification course. The program includes the physics and biomechanics of mountain biking, alongside relevant teaching skills that can be applied to the world of mountain biking.
The certifications are constantly being developed and improved, using feedback from instructors, staff, clients, and the industry as a whole. The syllabus was created to include elements of psychology, physics, and sports science and began following the experience gained over 15 years of training and certifying mountain bike instructors.
